You can live your rock and roll fantasy in BitLife by joining a band or creating one of your own. It’s tough to join a band, as they are extremely selective of who they want to choose to join them, but if you have enough talent in a particular instrument, you can find yourself becoming one of the best bands in the world. It takes a lot of effort, and you can expect to find yourself being rejected quite a bit.

The first thing you need to do before joining a band is learning an instrument and practicing it. You will need to practice the instrument quite a bit and steadily build the skill up. To do this, starting at age six, you can take instrument lessons under the Mind & Body tab. If you want to join a band, these are the instruments you want to focus on learning.

  • Bass Guitar
  • Drums
  • Guitar
  • Keyboard

Any of the bands you try to join in BitLife will be looking for someone with one of these skills. However, they’re also looking for singers too, so if you’re not doing too hot with any of these instruments, you can always let your singing do the talking.

You can continue to take lessons in any of the desired instruments until you’re 18, and then you have to pay for them yourself. These lessons cost $500 to $1,500 to attend. If you’re out of college, you can apply to join a band in the special careers tab, underneath occupation. There will be a musician tab at the top.

When you apply to join a band, you need to select what instrument you’re offering to play for them, or if you’ll be a singer. Sometimes, bands will be looking for players immediately, and other times they’re not. You’ll need to check every time you age up to see if a band is looking. If they are, you’ll be able to see what type of band they are, what they do, and how popular they are. When you audition, you have the chance to be accepted or not. More often than not, you’ll be rejected, but if you increase your skill with your chosen instrument, the right band will pick you up immediately.
