How to build a ship in Dual Universe

Part of the fun in Dual Universe has less to do with collecting ores and depositories but actually exploring the inner depths of space. But to do that, you will need a ship to get you from one destination to another. So how do you build a ship in Dual Universe? Let’s go over what you need to do.

How to build a ship in Dual Universe

Before you do anything, make sure that you have a large quantity of Quanta, which is the currency for Dual Universe. Since you will need to acquire various items, such as engines, headlights, steel, and stabilizers in your container, having a good amount of cash in the bank can really help you out during the construction phase.

Now, as far as the actual construction of the ship goes, go into Build Helper and make sure that you have these resources in your Inventory (items via YouTuber Z1 Gaming):

  • Large, medium, and small atmospheric engines (four, spread out engines (i.e. two large and two medium engines) is a good number)
  • Hovers and canisters
  • Vertical boosters
  • Atmospheric airbrakes (which can go on the bottom of the ship)
  • Fuel tanks (which you should have if you plan on going to other planets)

Once you have a plan, you can then go to your Inventory box and begin constructing the ship.

Tips for building a ship

When designing a ship in Dual Universe, you have a good amount of freedom when it comes to constructing it. However, it’s recommended that you stack the boxes, and your design as a whole, symmetrically. To illustrate, if you plan on adding a specific frame to one side, make sure you add it to the other one (use U on your keyboard to do this). Also, make sure that the ship has wings, and a stabilizer in the middle helps.

You can also check to see the performance of your new ship via the Atmospheric Flight Engineer screen. At the Build Helper, select the fourth icon from the left to access this menu.

Another tip is to make sure that you set up your tanks, engines, and hovers before laying the frame of the ship down. This will ensure that you take care of the complicated matters first, before dealing with the rest of the ship. Lastly, if you plan to run a ship with a lot of speed, make sure it’s built for it. Ideally, you’ll want to create a small ship with a small nose and as lean as possible.
