For trainers looking forward to reaching past level 40 in Pokémon Go, you have plenty of work cut out. There’s going to be a lot of grinding, plenty of ways to earn XP, and then quests you need to complete to make it to the next level. Your Pokémon will also be able to become stronger by going past level 40, but it requires you to earn XL candy. It’s a new item that your Pokémon need to power up, alongside the candy they already use.
We’ve learned all of the XL candy and stardust requirements your Pokémon need for each level up past 40, all the way up to 50. Here’s the breakdown. It’s important to note that a Pokémon needs to power up twice to reach the next level. Each level cost is essentially something you’ll have to do twice before reaching level 50 with them.
For those not looking forward to grinding XL candy, we detailed a handful of activities that might make it easier to focus on acquiring as many XL candies as you can acquire.
