Don’t expect developer MiHoYo to take post-launch support lightly for their new free-to-play RPG, Genshin Impact. In a recent blog post on its website, MiHoYo has informed fans that another region will be added to the game before the end of the year. The addition is set to be the third area in the title and will be given its own dedicated events upon release.
So far, we do not know what the land looks like, though it will go by the name Dragonspire. The developer has revealed that it will be bundled in with “related events” when it releases on Wednesday, December 23. There wasn’t further detail about what these events specifically entail, but it could mean more quests are in store.
The developer ensured that version updates will be made once every six weeks, with the roadmap starting with the Version 1.1 patch set for release on November 11 with several changes and new content to be expected. Following these two updates, Version 1.3 has also been officially announced for a February 2021 release, featuring the Lantern Rite event series in the area of Liyue.
PlayStation 5 users could experience this update on a whole other level, as MiHoYo stated the next-gen version is in the works.
