Yakuza: Like a Dragon will support multiple graphics mode when released on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and now the first details about those will work have been disclosed.
According to the Sega community manager, whose comment has been shared on ResetEra, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be presented in two different modes on each console, one going for resolution and the other aiming for performance.
Xbox Series X will deliver a 4K resolution with 30fps in the first mode while unlocking 60fps support at 1440p in the second. Xbox Series S will be surprisingly low on the resolution in the performance mode as it will run at 900p and 60fps.
900p has been the infamous Xbox One resolution for multiple multi-platform titles across the current generation, and seeing it return in the next-gen platform is somewhat unexpected.
However, players who will opt for resolution will be able to take advantage of the full 1440p promised by Microsoft when promoting the lower-specced next-generation machine, at 30fps.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a launch game and next-gen timed Xbox Series X exclusive, as it will be released for PlayStation 5 only in March. Sega has already announced that cross-gen saves will only be supported by Xbox One and Xbox Series X since it doesn’t have such plans for PlayStation 4 and 5.
The Yakuza franchise has witnessed a strong surge in popularity in the West over the last several years, and while featuring a new protagonist and location, Like a Dragon is aiming at capitalizing on that success.
